This course is based at Hampshire & Cass Foundation Mountain Centre near Brecon. The first half of the course is delivered in the Brecon Beacons, with the expedition taking place in larger rockier mountains of North Wales. Candidates will need to arrange their own accommodation, however self catering accommodation may be available in the centre - please enquire with the centre directly.

Before you attend the assessment you must have done the following:
o I have attended a Mountain Leader training course (or have been granted exemption)
o I am familiar with the syllabus
o I have logged a minimum of 40 Quality Mountain Days in three different regions of the UK and Ireland
o I hold a current first aid certificate, minimum 16 hours and relevant to your work as a Mountain Leader
o I have logged at least 8 nights camping, including at least 4 nights wild camping
